What is a paint correction?

Paint corrections involve buffing and polishing the paint to remove scuffs, scratches, and swirls from the paint. There are multiple levels of paint correction and can vary greatly in price depending on severity of damage to the paint, the color of the paint, and the size of the vehicle. For vehicles with light damage to the paint a one step paint correction, commonly referred to as a ‘paint enhancement’, can be performed to remove most of the damage. For severely damaged paint a two step or 3 step paint correction is required to full correct the paint. This involves heavily buffing the paint to remove deep scratches. This process will leave behind light swirl marks in the paint, requiring a second or third step of polishing to full perfect the paint.

What is a ceramic coating?

Ceramic coatings are a liquid ceramic material, which once applied to the vehicle bonds with the paint and hardens into a solid ceramic material. Ceramic coatings create a semi permanent bond with the paint that can last from 1-7 years depending on the type of ceramic coating used. Much like wax, it makes the paint hydrophobic and repel water and dirt. Unlike wax, it does not wash off after 2 or 3 washes, and it puts wax to shame when it comes to hydrophobics and repelling dirt.
